Sergey Kovalev’s promotional team are optimistic a deal can be agreed for Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez fight

Sergey Kovalev’s team are convinced that a deal can be agreed to fight Saul’Canelo’ Alvarez at November, however there is a catchweight not on the table at discussions.
The reigning WBO champion, the, will be the front runner to become another competitor for Mexican star’Canelo’, who is currently targeting a world title in a weight branch that is fourth.
Terms could not be agreed in time for Kovalev to confront Alvarez in September, which meant’Krusher’ defended his belt over Britain’s Anthony Yarde, but discussions have resumed more than a bout on November 2.
When asked if there was optimism over an arrangement, Kathy Duva, CEO of Main Events who promote Kovalev, told Sky Sports:”Yes, maybe.”
However, Duva ruled out any discussion concerning Kovalev assembly Canelo with the 36-year-old having held a domain on three occasions during a campaign in 175lbs.
Kovalev had affirmed before the Yarde struggle that financial benefit was accessible for a clash with’Canelo’ and’d expected that success would pave the way for a deal.
“Yes, we had an offer,” he explained. “The offer was a considerable one.
“My main task is to guard the name. If the struggle is fascinating for Canelo, then ok.
“This battle provides us an opportunity to fight with Canelo later on”
